It's finally Viz Media's turn to steal the show on the anime / manga licensing scene, with three solid announcements issued over the past week. No more FUNimation... for now.

First off, on September 16 they released the Black Lagoon manga in North America, marking its alleged debut in the territory. The original series, published in Japan from 2002, was created by Rei Hiroe, and it's about a misfit group of mercenaries and their adventures on the high seas of Southeast Asia. Better known to us were the two Black Lagoon anime seasons, and ever since last month's announcement, we're eagerly waiting for news from the Black Lagoon 3 front.

Also last week, Viz released the first volume of the Blue Dragon anime on DVD. Blue Dragon Volume 1 is priced at $14.98 and features the first 5 episodes from this Xbox-360-fantasy-RPG-turned-anime produced by Studio Pierrot - of Naruto and Bleach fame. So to speak "fame"...

The last of Viz Media's mediatic trio arrived today, when they announced two more Zelda manga titles based on Nintendo's classic games franchise. They are The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask - releasing on February 3, 2009, and The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons (Zelda no Densetsu: Fushigi no Kinomi Daichi no Shou, or The Legend of Zelda: The Mysterious Nut, Earth Chapter) - releasing on April 7, 2009.

Not too fascinating stuff, deshou? Where's a FUNi press release when you need one!
