It only just hit me that we didn't have that
Afro Samurai: Resurrection trailer issued by FUNimation a while ago, until now that is. But that's not the point. The reason I brought this dubious (albeit successful) "anime" franchise into discussion is a certain
story ran by ANN, telling us that the upcoming Afro Samurai game will be released in January 2009 - much like the
Afro Samurai: Resurrection anime film sequel.

The Afro Samurai game will be released by Namco Bandai for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles on January 29. Obviously enough, it will be an action game, promising to deliver
"a new kind of cinematic game experience, a living episode that offers addictive, immersive and compelling gameplay that's literally dripping in style". And hopefully not dripping with bugs, metaphorically.
As for Gonzo's anime film Afro Samurai: Resurrection, its January 2009 premiere only holds true for the Spike TV network, while the DVD version will be released by FUNimation in February 2009. Like my comrade
briefed you a few months ago, Resurrection will see the vocal return of Samuel L. Jackson in the main role, joined by new characters lip-synced by
Lucy Liu (Charlie's Angels, Kill Bill) and Mark Hamill (Star Wars).
Meanwhile, still no news regarding that
planned Afro Samurai live-action movie...
