At one point in my sedentary life, I was bored enough to watch the
second Munto OVA from 2005. Much like the first one from 2003, it was a single-episode OVA about a down-to-earth girl named Yumemi, and the titular Munto, king of a magical realm up in the clouds. A not-so-impressive fantasy anime, I'd say, sprinkled with a few
loli flashbacks which made it a bit more enjoyable. Just a wee bit.

Now, for some reason, Kyoto Animation is
remaking Munto as a full-fledged TV anime series called
Sora wo Miageru Shoujo no Hitomi ni Utsuru Sekai (The World Reflected in the Eyes of a Girl Looking Up at the Heavens). According to the official Munto
website, this TV remake will be aired in Japan in early spring 2009, along with a "Director's Cut" version of the original OVAs adding some new footage.
If they're going to recycle the same old story all over again, there's little point in getting excited about it. Unless you were too drunk to remember how the original ends. Not unlike us.
