These are just some of the least interesting anime announcements made as of late, and since dedicating full-blown reports for each of them would be nothing short of madness, a simple list will have to suffice.
-
Beyblade - some pointless kiddy anime, rescheduled for April 2009.
-
Koisuru Otome to Shugo no Tate - an erroneously reported anime adaptation of AXL's
eroge from 2007, which turned out to be nothing more than a
"misprint". So nothing to see here, move along...
-
Kurokami (Black God) - finally
gets a TV debut timeframe: January 2009 (
website).
-
Maria Holic - just a revamped
website, TV debut still set for January 2009.
-
Minami-ke Okaeri - the third Minami-ke anime series will also start airing in Japan from January 2009 (
website).
-
Shikabane Hime: Kuro - according to the new
website opened by studio StarChild, that's one more anime (sequel) lined up for January 2009.
-
Slayers Evolution-R - the follow-up to
Slayers Revolution is yet another anime set to begin in January 2009 (
website).
-
The 3-Mei-sama: Anime wa Anime de Arissho! - based on the "Three Young-Men in Midnight" gag manga, about 3 loser friends and their random late-night conversations at a family diner restaurant. The manga already has a live-action adaptation, and that's where the OVA will borrow its director and (voice) actors from. Begins in February 2009.
-
The Tale of Genji: A Millennium-Old Journal (Genji Monogatari Sennenki) - will
not be based on the Asakiyumemishi manga, as
originally planned. Instead, the new Genji anime will be a more direct interpretation of the original novel, to celebrate its
1000-year anniversary. Begins in January 2009 (
website).
