Valkyria Chronicles - now there's a game I would've been tempted to try, had I actually had a good reason to buy a PlayStation 3. Or a child to trade for it. The game was just released by SEGA in North America and Europe a week or two ago, and it's an action-RPG (with some strategy elements) set in a World War-like scenario, but with a distinctive anime look to it - seen the trailers?

With that kind of look, one could say the game was predestined to get an anime adaptation; which just so happens to be the case. A TV anime series, to be more precise, titled Valkyria of the Battlefield (Senjou no Valkyria: Gallian Chronicles). There's already an official website up and running, so far revealing that the anime is being produced by the still-young studio A-1 Pictures (Persona: Trinity Soul, Kannagi, among few others).

If this seems like your kind of thing, look out for spring 2009, when it's scheduled to start airing in Japan.

I'm really looking forward to how they adapt this amazing game to the anime. I'm not going to be to critical on the storyline because it is going to be difficult to out episodes from a game. I just wonder how long this anime is going to be? Thier obviously cant be a 25 ep. + season 2 anime. Anyways I hope it is good and gets good ratings.

It's currently planned as a 13-episode anime. But I don't see any reason why it couldn't be extended beyond that.

True what I kinda meant they cant go beyond 25 after they defeat maximillian. It would be kinda kool if they did thought I mean the war is still going on after Gallia so it could be possible I guess. That would be sweet though if they did!!!! Alicia and Gunther better have that kid or Im gonna be pissed as hell Stokky!!
