Previewing an upcoming anime series with a special episode can work wonders, when done right. And by "right", I mean "free" (remember that
Ichigo Mashimaro space odyssey?). But expecting people to actually pay for such a preview is just plain wrong. Sure, crazed otakus will cough up the yen, but come on! Teasers - much like porn - should always be a free commodity. Right... good luck telling that to whoever is in charge of milking the
Hayate no Gotoku! franchise.

A second Hayate no Gotoku! season has been known to be in the making since
back in spring, but strangely enough, the new anime still has no fixed premiere date. What it does - or, rather, will have - is a
"0th episode", planned for release on DVD ahead of the second season. Needless to say, this DVD is also lacking a firm release date, for the time being.
Had it not been for that loli Nagi-chan, I wonder if anyone would still be excited enough about the second Hayate anime, to even consider buying a single episode. Or to at least finish watching the first season, which dragged on for way too long, if you ask me.
