Square Enix would need no introduction, had this news been about games. But when it comes to their manga - and in particular the titles adapted as animes - their reputation gets pretty dodgy. For every good anime that came out of their properties in the last few years, there must have been at least that many less... enjoyable ones. Which leaves us to wonder: how will the next one - namely
Pandora Hearts - turn out?

The TV anime series based on the supernatural action manga Pandora Hearts is being announced in the December issue of Square Enix's Monthly G Fantasy magazine (on sale on November 18).
ANN reports that studio Xebec will animate it, under the direction of Takao Kato (Buso Renkin, Compiler,
To Love-Ru). The manga has been compiled into
6 volumes so far, and its story goes something like this:
"Oz Bezarius, heir to one of the duke houses, has just turned fifteen. His life is rich and carefree, darkened only by the constant absence of his father. At his coming-of-age ceremony, however, everything changes. For no reason that he can discern, he's cast into the prison known as the "Abyss", only to be saved by a "chain" known as Alice, the bloodstained black rabbit. Why was he cast into Abyss, how does Alice factor into it all, and what does the organization known as "Pandora" want with him..."
