Not even fully fansubbed yet, Saiunkoku Monogatari seems to be getting a sequel already. Personally, I don't like watching anime series piece by piece, so I haven't had the chance of seeing just how this title turns out, but the story seems trivial enough to catch my attention. I mean the concubine stuff, the gay Emperor, the best friend and, of course, the lovu-lovu twist that is bound to happen sooner or later. Seems that this anime is based on a light novel written by Sai Yukino and Kairi Yura, and the story takes place in some sort of feudal China, where slaves roamed the streets, cotton was carefully harvested by black people, alcohol was more in demand than pictures of naked Laetitia Casta, and video games were prohibited by ESRB due to extreme violence and to a certain unknown war hero named Jack Thompson. Fascinating.
