Needless? Needles? Noodles?... Animu?! Oh, hai. It seems that Kami Imai's futuristic action comedy manga with "bishoujo x violence" will be getting a not-so-much needed Needless anime, according to some shady Moon Phase comments picked up by ANN. The following 3 names have already been linked to the anime adaptation: director Masayuki Sakoi (Kamen no Maid Guy, Strawberry Panic!), script supervisor Satoru Nishizono (Naruto Shippuuden, Welcome to the NHK), and character designer Hiromi Kato (Azumanga Daioh - The Very Short Movie, Kobato.).

Once the report turns out to be accurate (no reason to think otherwise), we should find out when to expect the anime's release - or when to ignore it, if the story below doesn't sound like your kind of thing.
"The action gag comedy with "bishoujo x violence" is set in 2130, when large swaths of Japan have been quarantined as polluted "Black Spots (BS)" in the aftermath of World War III. However, there are people who have settled behind the massive walls of the Black Spots, where they have developed mysterious powers. The city people on the outside have a label for the Black Spot people they have ostracized: "Needless"."
