Good thing we didn't go ape shit on Kadokawa after yesterday's
"nice boat" video, because today they made up for their (deliberate?) slackery by releasing the first episode of
Suzumiya Haruhi-chan no Yuuutsu, as well as the first episode of
Nyoron Churuya-san web-anime. You can watch both of them with English subtitles on Kadokawa's YouTube channel (
here and
here), but just in case they pull some crazy stunt again, we're also adding them locally (
here and
here).
Suzumiya Haruhi-chan no Yuuutsu episode 1

Haruhi-chan runs for a healthy 5 minutes (almost), while the more concise Churuya-san barely packs 2 minutes of
Nyoron~ness. The latter is a very straight adaptation of the gag manga; which, of course, is a good thing. Hence the verdict: short and sweet. Haruhi-chan's web-anime version, on the other hand, is somewhat less amusing, probably because it strays further away from its original manga. Still a decent watch, though, and it's not like we'll get anything better anytime soon, right?

Update: This calls for a poll:
"Which of Kadokawa's videos was better?"
