Evangelion 2.0 In June, Evangelion 1.11 In May

The Japanese premiere date for Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance - also known as Evangelion Shin Gekijouban: Ha - is now set for June 27, 2009 according to multiple reports that piled up over the weekend. Much like fans will be piling up in cinemas to see this second theatrical remake of the Neon Genesis Evangelion TV anime series, from the total of 4 animation films planned.



Along with new EVA units designs, more fan "service-service", "a shocking new story", new visuals and a new brunette girl character wearing glasses, Eva 2.0 also promises to feature the return of fan-favorite character Asuka Langley Soryu - of which I'll be adding some more pictures in the local gallery shortly. They can't all be lolis, eh? (Update: Gallery in place, after filtering through over 9000 horrible, horrible fanart... and but a few decent ones)

At the same time, it's being announced that Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone, which was enhanced to version "1.01" last year, will receive yet another remastered edition, titled Evangelion: 1.11 You Are (Not) Alone. This one will be released on Blu-ray and DVD on May 27, 2009, and it will include new cuts and digital mastering. Additional details on Eva 1.11 should be offered by distributor King Records on March 16.
