Kanamemo Anime Will Be TV Series

The upcoming anime adaptation of the Kanamemo manga was only briefly mentioned here last month, at which time we knew next to nothing about it. Seeing how the original manga features such a huggable school girl, it saddens me to admit that not munch has changed since the anime was announced. The only (predictable) novelty is that Kanamemo is being produced as a TV anime series, not some OVA, OAD, ONA or whatever dubious formats are being invented these days.



The ongoing Kanamemo 4-koma manga by Shouko Iwami has so far been compiled into a single volume that was released in August 2008, with a second volume currently set to go on sale in Japan this March 26. The story, as resumed by ANN, goes like this:

"The story centers on Kana Nakamichi, a middle-school girl who had already lost her parents and just recently lost her only remaining relative, her grandmother. As a result, she ends up living and working at a newspaper delivery office. Everyone else living at the office are all charming, self-assertive bishoujo. The manga follows Kana's daily life in the fast-paced yet joyous environment."
