I would sure like to know Rumiko Takahashi's secret for her creative voracity. Not only is she working on a new manga series for a Spring 2009 debut, in the wake of the recently-ended Inuyasha manga compilation (not to mention her earlier works like Ranma 1/2, Maison Ikkoku or Urusei Yatsura), but this month she is releasing two more short manga titles.

The one-shot manga Unmei no Tori was already published last week in the Big Comic Original magazine. And next week, another one called "My Sweet Sunday" will be published in Weekly Shonen Sunday - to mark the magazine's 50th anniversary issue (out on March 18). The latter is actually a collaboration betweek Rumiko Takahashi and fellow mangaka Mitsuru Adachi, and according to ANN's report, it's a 30-page one-shot manga.

ANN adds that "the March 18 issue will also offer a DVD with trailers for the Urusei Yatsura, Ranma 1/2, and Inuyasha special anime shorts that were created for last year's "It's a Rumic World" exhibition".

But there's one thing that confuses me in this story. As first announced last month, Rumiko Takahashi's new manga series will begin this spring in the Shonen Sunday magazine. And now we get this "My Sweet Sunday" co-authored one-shot manga in the Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine... I naturally assumed they are two different projects, but to be honest I wouldn't bet my soon-to-be-illegal loli porn stash on that assumption. Not all of it.
