That first Shangri-La artwork included with one of our Gonzo news last month took me by some surprise, since it looked nothing like the mystical name "Shangri-La" normally evokes. Luckily, the surprise was a good one, and the positive impression still prevails after seeing the first screenshots (and some new art) that were posted over the last few days on the official website's blog section - and reproduced below.

... and some more artworks after a narative intermission...
"The story takes place in the middle of the 21st century when global warming has turned Tokyo into a tropical city. To reduce the temperature at the heart of the city by 5°C (9°F), the city is being reborn as the world's largest forest city. However, despite the flow of refugees to the new city of Atlas, there are not many residents who can actually live there. Moreover, anti-government guerillas are attempting to stop the forestation." (ANN description)

Shangri-La will start airing in Japan this April 4.
