Dogs: Bullets & Carnage, Website & Trailer

The official website for the Dogs: Bullets & Carnage OVA opened today, and with it comes the first trailer pieced together by studio David Production (they previously animated a couple of Code Geass R2 episodes, and the upcoming Ristorante Paradiso). The website also includes a Staff & Cast listing, and a pre-order form in PDF format from which I ripped this here artwork.



This anime adaptation of Shirow Miwa's Dogs action manga was announced back in November, and since then it became apparent that we'll be dealing with a 2-episode OVA. The first DVD will be released on May 19 (with the volume 4 of the Dogs: Bullets & Carnage manga), and the second DVD will follow on July 17, 2009 (with the Dogs: Stray Dogs Howling in the Dark manga volume).

The story is set in a future city from Europe which extends far underground. There, a genetically altered albino gunman, a chain-smoking mercenary, a former assassin, and a katana-wielding orphan ply their deadly trades on the streets and below the surface. Sounds interesting enough, and stylistically it's even more intriguing.

The original manga is also starting to be released in North America this coming April, from Viz Media.
