Squad, From Lucent And Masamune Shirow

And since I just mentioned Lucent Pictures in that previous story about the new anime studio L4C they co-founded with Studio 4°C, it's only fitting to follow up with the new project displayed by Lucent at the ongoing TAF 2009. Its working title is simply "Squad", with the tagline "A battle for the front mission - I'll cover your back". Apparently the film will rely heavily on 3D graphics - albeit crappy-looking 3D graphics, if the sole image posted on the official website (and below) is anything to go by.



A name that does lend the film some hope is Masamune Shirow (Ghost in the Shell, Appleseed, Real Drive), who is co-producing the project, together with Beagle and Cross Road. These are the only details revealed so far by Lucent, but perhaps we'll get more visuals soon - hopefully something better looking, too.
