The upcoming Blu-ray and DVD volumes for the home video release of the TV anime series Kuroko no Basuke (Kuroko's Basketball) will each include a short OVA episode with "bloopers". The anime began airing in Japan (and also simulcasting on Crunchyroll) earlier this month, and its first home video disc is planned for release on July 27.

The TV anime series Mirai Nikki, also known as The Future Diary, came to an end in Japan yesterday with episode 26. But the franchise goes on, as the final episode faded out to the announcement of a "next project" being launched. Just what kind of (anime?) project, there's no way of knowing yet.

Earlier this month at Sakura-Con 2012, in Seattle, the animation studio Madhouse revealed a new "Ninja Scroll Project" through a sneak peak consisting of 3 shorts that the studio created for the project. The announcement was also reiterated a few days ago on Madhouse's official website, though without offering any kind of details about this new Ninja Scroll anime. Well, presumably anime...

The official website for the recently announced / clarified OVA sequel Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru 2: Futari no Elder has been updated with details about its release. The anime will have three episodes, with the respective Blu-ray and DVD volumes set to release in Japan on August 29, September 26 and October 24.

Just a quick catch-up with some of this week's headlines of interest, which sadly I can't cover in more detail at the moment, due to various offline reasons... For starters, the third Nogizaka Haruka anime will not be a TV series as previously assumed, but a 4-episode OVA titled Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu: Finale. No release timeframe yet.

A recent announcement that surfaced from the latest issue of Dengeki no Kanzume magazine, followed by the opening of an official website, reveals plans for an upcoming TV anime series called Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo. It's based on a romantic school comedy light novel series written by Hajime Kamoshida and illustrated by Keji Mizoguchi.

The studio behind the recently announced TV anime adaptation Little Busters! has been revealed to be J.C. Staff, according to a scan from the Dengeki Visual Arts magazine. Several staffers were also named there, and you can find the translated list over on MAL. No release timeframe for the anime was given at this time, either.

Earlier this month, J.C. Staff was also indicated as the studio that's animating the upcoming TV series Joshiraku, likewise without a release date attached so far. (...)

Little did we know last month, when Nisemonogatari ended with that "To Be Continued" notice, that it's not just that particular (sub-)series that will be extended with more anime. Instead, all of NisiOisin's "Monogatari" novels will have anime adaptations, according to an announcement that surfaced today from the Nisio Tsuushin newsletter.

Having done a superb work with animating NisiOisin's novels so far, studio Shaft will continue to create the remaining anime series; or movies... or maybe even OVAs? (...)

That supposed crossover anime of Detective Conan and Kindaichi Shounen no Jikenbo (Young Kindaichi's Casebook) may have been just an April Fools' joke, but this one, apparently, isn't. According to Shogakukan's Weekly Shounen Sunday magazine, a special crossover OVA was announced to combine Gosho Aoyama's flagship shounen manga Detective Conan (Meitantei Conan) with another short story of his, called Excalibur.
