Those of you who - for various, law-bending reasons - have been dying to get your hands on the home video edition of the K-ON! Movie, can now mark your calendars for July 18. That's when the anime film's Blu-ray and DVD version will be released in Japan and, no doubt, leaked outside its borders shortly thereafter. The K-ON! Movie originally premiered in Japanese theaters last winter, on December 3. And by early February, it had earned 1.7 billion yen ($20.8 million) in ticket sales. (...) Continue reading 'K-ON! Movie's Blu-ray, DVD Release Set For July'...
Studio Sunrise is announcing today that they are working on the first feature-length feature film adaptation of Kaiketsu Zorori (The Incredible Zorori) - originally a children's book by Yutaka Hara, which has previously spawned several anime titles of various formats since 1989. This latest project is titled Kaiketsu Zorori Da-Da-Da-Daibouken! (The Incredible Zorori's G-G-G-Great Adventure!), and its Japanese premiere is planned for Winter 2012. Studio Asia-Do is assisting Sunrise with the movie's production, and Tomoko Iwasaki is directing it. The official website so far only provides the above key visual, and (...) Today's update of the official website for Code Geass: Akito the Exiled is announcing the release date - the limited theatrical premiere, that is - for this upcoming OVA's first episode: August 4. This is in line with last week's report that finally revealed the anime's format as a 4-episode OVA, with a release timeframe starting from this summer. Following a limited theatrical screening in Japan, each 50-minute episode will of course receive a home video release as well, on Blu-ray. A similar release pattern (...) The official website of Starship Troopers: Invasion has been updated with the premiere date for this upcoming 3D CG animation film, announcing that the movie will open in Japanese theaters on July 21. Shinji Aramaki (CG Appleseed movies) is directing it, from a script based on Robert A. Heinlein's classic sci-fi novel "Starship Troopers". Although the original novel also inspired a 1988 OVA and several live-action films, Starship Troopers: Invasion is a direct sequel to the 1997 movie Starship Troopers (...) Ask not what the criteria behind this "top 10" is: truth be told, these simply happen to be the 10 eroge that were already listed in the local games database for an April 27 release. However, they are certainly among the most promising titles - out of the many others - releasing today in Japan, including the highly anticipated sequel D.C. III: Da Capo III, the highly lolicious Monobeno, or the highly delayed Shiny Days. Other than slipping a personal note about my sleazy interest in Monobeno, more so than in any of the other titles, I wouldn't really anticiapte a solid ranking for this eroge lot. So I'll just list them in alphabetical order and invite you to inspect each of them (...) Continue reading 'Today's Top 10 Hentai Games Releases'...
A Karneval anime adaptation is being announced on the cover of volume 9 from Touya Mikanagi's josei-fantasy manga series of the same title. This latest volume has just been released today in Japan, and so has the series' 5th drama CD, for that matter. No details about the anime seem to be known at this time. The Karneval manga began serialization in 2008. Its story follows the journey of a boy named Nai, who is looking for someone important to him, with only (...) Having taken a year-long break after the three Stitch! TV anime series that had been airing since 2008, Disney's cute blue alien is ready for a comeback this summer. Though not with a full-fledged series, but only with an hour-long TV special, titled Stitch to Suna no Wakusei (Stitch and the Planet of Sand), planned for June. This time around, Stitch will leave behind his Okinawan friend Yuuna, and even our planet, and he heads back out into space to confront a planetary war at the sand planet (...)
