Last update - Apr 3, 16:50 GMT (11:50 EST, 08:50 PST) Whether or not related to today's opening of the 2012 Anime Contents Expo (ACE) - Japan's new "king of anime shows", following the decay of TAF - several upcoming anime projects have revealed their key visuals this weekend. The most alluring of them, I'd say, is the one pictured below, for this summer's TV anime Dakara Boku wa, H ga Dekinai.. It's about a guy who lost his "erotic spirit" by making a contract with a beautiful Goddess of Death. Tragic... Next, in no particular order, we have a group artwork for the upcoming Blue Exorcist Movie, that was posted on the official website as a backdrop for a countdown to April 1. (...) A game adaptation of the upcoming anime Saint Seiya Omega, for an unnamed platform, has been announced for a Fall 2012 release by Namco Bandai. The publisher shared what appears to be an in-game (or at least "in-engine") screenshot, but other specifics about the game were not detailed at this time. The TV anime series Saint Seiya Omega starts airing in Japan tomorrow, April 1. It is created by Toei Animation, and marks the first new television anime adaptation (...) The TV anime adaptation Code:Breaker sure is taking its sweet time to unveil its details. Even though it was first announced back in September, only now we find out which studio is animating it - Kinema Citrus - along with the names of several staffers, headed by director Yasuhiro Irie ( FMA Brotherhood), and one sole voice actor: Kenichi Suzumura. Next, it would also be nice to hear something about its release date... The anime is based on Akimine Kamijyou's "dark hero" comedy manga also spelled as C0DE:BREAKER. (...) Last update - Mar 30, 12:37 GMT (07:37 EST, 04:37 PST) This Friday, March 30, the Noitamina website should officially reveal the second anime that will be aired during its popular late-night programming block from July, alongside the recently announced anime sequel Moyashimon Returns. The website's coders, however, may have let the cat out of the bag a bit early, by leaving the "rendezvous" name in the source code, as an ID for the "mystery" anime's cell on the page. This tiny slip gives a ton of weight to a recent rumor that's been flying around the Japanese forums, claiming that the TV anime in question will be (...) The TV anime series Persona 4 The Animation has just come to an end in Japan today, with episode 25; but not to a "true end" it seems. That one is reserved for a special unaired episode, titled "No One is Alone", which will be bundled with the anime's 10th Blu-ray and DVD volume, releasing in Japan on August 22 - as announced at the end of episode 25. Persona 4 had been airing since last October. It was created by studio AIC A.S.T.A, based on the 2008 PS2 game Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4. The anime is (...) The Amagami Precious Diary manga spin-off that's been serialized in the Young Animal Island magazine has come to an end. The manga was originally launched by Tarou Shinonome in the Young Animal magazine in November 2009, based on the Amagami romance simulation game that also inspired two anime series: Amagami SS in 2010 and Amagami SS Plus in 2012. The manga's final compiled volume (#5) ships in June. This week marked the debut of a Walkure Romanze manga adaptation, in the May issue of Dengeki Daioh magazine (out since March 27). The manga is based on the 2011 eroge (...) Continue reading 'Checkpoint: Amagami, Walkure, PS4 = Orbis?'...
For the past few days, Namco Bandai has been counting down to the announcement of a new game, through a teasing website that kept updating itself with new hints - first that it would be an action-adventure; then that it would be for a Sony platform (eventually narrowed down to the PSP). And now, according to a report from the latest Jump issue, the game is revealed as being titled Hunter x Hunter Wonder Adventure (obviously based on the Hunter x Hunter shounen manga and anime), and set for a winter release. In other shounen manga related news, the 65th volume of the One Piece manga has set a new sales record in the Oricon charts: 3 million copies sold in less than two months! (...)
