The Fall 2012 anime season is starting to shape up nicely, with the addition of a newly announced TV anime series based on the Teekyuu! manga - a gag comedy series about a girls' tennis team, created by Roots and Piyo. The bearer of this good news is the wraparound jacket of the manga's first volume (releasing in Japan this week), pinpointing the anime's premiere for October 7.



Publisher Earth Star Entertainment has already proclaimed the Teekyuu! anime to be the fastest TV anime adaptation ever. Their Comic Earth Star magazine began serializing the manga five months ago, so... mmmyeah, that's pretty fast indeed.

Sorry for the prolonged radio silence around here, and... yeah, let's just get straight back to loli business. So ANN has just relayed an announcement made in the September issue of the Manga Time Kirara magazine, revealing an upcoming Yuyushiki TV anime adaptation. The series will be based on a four-panel manga by Komata Mikami, about the school life of three girls in the data processing club: Yuzuko, Yukari and Yui.



No production or release details for now, just a tiny local Yuyushiki gallery, if the above image piqued your interest.

A Japanese report today reveals that studio OLM (Oriental Light and Magic) is working on a new anime film project, titled Inazuma Eleven GO vs Danball Senki W. As its title implies, the movie will be based on the latest entries in two of the studio's anime franchises - Inazuma Eleven GO and Danball Senki W, in turn based on the respective game series developed by Level-5.

After today's database maintenance here on Animekon (checking the upcoming projects for updated details, dates and such), it turns out that the entire July 2012 TV anime season is now fully planned - barring any last-minute announcements of new anime series that might yet be made in the following couple of weeks. An explosion of tweets was triggered by the ending credits of the Persona 4 The Animation: The Factor of Hope compilation movie, which premiered in Japan this June 9. The anime film ended with a short clip announcing that a theatrical film version of the Persona 3 game is in the making. It will presumably be an anime adaptation (i.e. not live-action or 3D CG), given that the clip featured the game's protagonist in a traditional 2D animation.

The 17th compiled volume of the Chihayafuru manga is coming out in Japan next week, on June 13, all nicely wrapped in an "obi" strip announcing that a second TV anime series is in the making. Studio Madhouse will presumably continue to work on it, as it did with the first season that aired between October 2011 and March 2012. The wraparound jacket band doesn't give out any timeframe for Chihayafuru 2's release, though.



The original manga is authored by Yuki Suetsugu, and it follows a girl competing in the traditional Japanese card game of karuta. In the story, a schoolgirl (...)

A highly intriguing multimedia project has just been announced by a group of producers that include anime studio Madhouse, ASCII Media Works, Aniplex and Kadokawa Shoten. The project's dedicated official website reveals its title to be Arata-naru Sekai (New World), with an overall sci-fi time-travelling story whose various aspects - future, past and present - will each be depicted in a different format: anime, manga and novel, respectively.



The overall story takes place in a depopulated world that finds itself stuck in time. But, as time travel technology is finally completed, the hope of a better tomorrow is born. (...)

Shiro's slice-of-life mountaineering manga Yama no Susume has yet to even have its first compiled volume released in Japan, this June 12, and already an anime adaptation is being announced for it. It will be a TV anime series, with studio 8bit working on it for a 2013 launch. The studio's other upcoming anime project is Busou Shinki (airing from October).

The non-Conan detective manga Kindaichi Case Files will be getting a 2-episode OVA adaptation, Kodansha's Weekly Shounen Magazine reveals today (via ANN). The OVA episodes will be bundled on DVD with the manga's limited edition 3rd and 4th volumes, releasing in Japan on December 17, 2012 and March 15, 2013 respectively.
