The Amagami Precious Diary manga spin-off that's been serialized in the Young Animal Island magazine has come to an end. The manga was originally launched by Tarou Shinonome in the Young Animal magazine in November 2009, based on the Amagami romance simulation game that also inspired two anime series: Amagami SS in 2010 and Amagami SS Plus in 2012. The manga's final compiled volume (#5) ships in June. This week marked the debut of a Walkure Romanze manga adaptation, in the May issue of Dengeki Daioh magazine (out since March 27). The manga is based on the 2011 eroge (...) Continue reading 'Checkpoint: Amagami, Walkure, PS4 = Orbis?'...
For the past few days, Namco Bandai has been counting down to the announcement of a new game, through a teasing website that kept updating itself with new hints - first that it would be an action-adventure; then that it would be for a Sony platform (eventually narrowed down to the PSP). And now, according to a report from the latest Jump issue, the game is revealed as being titled Hunter x Hunter Wonder Adventure (obviously based on the Hunter x Hunter shounen manga and anime), and set for a winter release. In other shounen manga related news, the 65th volume of the One Piece manga has set a new sales record in the Oricon charts: 3 million copies sold in less than two months! (...) Last year's TV anime series AnoHana, so impossibly titled Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae o Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai., is set to receive a PSP game adaptation, as well, on top of the imminent AnoHana manga that's launching in the Jump Square magazine this April 4. The adventure game is being developed by Guyzware, to be published by 5pb. this summer. The original slice-of-life story, created for the 2011 anime by studio A-1 Pictures, follows six childhood friends who grew apart in high school, and are to be reuninted by (...) Innevitably, some may say, an anime adaptation based on the 2007 game Little Busters! was finally announced to be in the making! It will be a TV anime series, according to a commercial that ran during Dengeki Bunko's latest web radio program - later taken offline, and then put back online today (something smells fishy). Little Busters! was originally released by Visual Art's for the PC in July 2007, and it was the 6th game developed by Key - best known for their beloved visual novels (...) Well, what do you know! Just yesterday, BlazBlue came up as a brief news topic. And today, the Japanese developer Arc System Works has announced its new game project, tentatively titled Xblaze, along with a teasing trailer. They referred to it as "another Blue story", so it might have some connection with the studio's popular BlazBlue fighting games. Xblaze is the first game coming from Arc System Works' vaguely titled "Adventure Project", in winter 2012 (no platform was named so far). The trailer was first shown (...) A release date has been set for the PS3 version of K-ON! After School Live!! - June 21, 2012. This will be a remastered version of the 2010 PSP rhythm game, with enhanced HD visuals, support for 3D stereoscopic output, Ad-hoc multiplayer for 1-to-5 players, and the ability to share its save data with the original PSP version. The lovely fantasy RPG Tokitowa has revealed a few more of its heroines, thanks to Famitsu posting a pair of images - one artwork and one screenshot - for each of them. (...) A new Final Fantasy game? A new franchise? Who knows... For now, Square Enix is teasing us with an enigmatic trailer for what appears to be a fantasy game, with an official website promising to unveil this "Secret Title" in summer 2012, according to ANN's report. However, the website is also displaying a countdown that will reach zero one week from now, on March 30... So I'd say that's when the game will be unveiled, for a summer release. The video displays keywords such as "meteors falling for seven days", "the mineralogist's apprentice Nakutu", "crystal", "dimensional warp", "summoned beasts" (...) Last update - Mar 23, 09:41 GMT (04:41 EST, 01:41 PST) And one last new anime announcement today, also not coming from TAF 2012, is for an upcoming anime short that will be bundled on DVD with the Guilty Crown Lost Xmas game's limited edition, out in Japan this May 31. Like the first Guilty Crown TV series that aired from October (and ending tomorrow), this new short is animated by Production I.G. The Guilty Crown Lost Xmas visual novel game is created by Nitroplus as a prequel / spin-off to the original anime, with a story set a decade earlier - on December 25, 2029. (...)
