Aside from 12-hour long naps and triple-sized feasts (drinking orgies to follow), Christmas also brings some cool new game trailers. First off are a couple of clips ripped from some "Cloud DVD" released in Japan, giving us another cinematic glimpse at the upcoming Final Fantasy XIII, and the emo'esque Final Fantasy Versus XIII, both for the PS3. Looking good. Gief moar!

Also for the PS3, there's a debut trailer for the new Naruto game in the works at Namco Bandai and CyberConnect2 - the guys who made the .hack//G.U. games. Same old martial-pew-pew, nothing new to see here, move along...

But the real surprise brought by Namco Bandai during last weekend's Jump Festa event is the announcement of a new fantasy RPG in the "Tales of..." series, called Tales of Vesperia. As shown in the trailer linked below, Production I.G is contributing to the project, and so is Yoshito Higuchi - the director of Tales of Symphonia and Tales of Abyss.

Other recent additions on TVkon that you might want to check include a "final" trailer for Devil May Cry 4 (though I bet we'll see more of it), a bunch of Aion 'class' trailers, some Lineage II 'Kamael' trailers, and best of all, the full, high-res, subbed version of the Candy Boy OVA. Chi chi!

Boo, delays make school lolis cry! Especially after the recent ToHeart 2: Another Days trailer which left me drooling, I was really looking forward to crack open some fresh new tissue boxes, in preparation for the December 14 release of Leaf's latest lolu-lovu game. But now that won't happen anymore, at least not this year. As clearly visible on the kanji-encrypted AnotherDays website, the game was delayed (yet again) until February 29, 2008 - which obviously means that there's no way we'll see that second To Heart 2 OVA any earlier than that, either.

Oh well, have some Silfa-in-a-box, more pantsu shots, and various other pics for now.

The long break on TVkon is hopefully over once and for all, and during the last few days I uploaded all the trailers that have been piling on my hard drive for... way too long. I probably missed a few on the way, many may seem old by now (probably because they really are), but there's also some fresh ones right out of the interwebs oven. The second preview trailer for True Tears in particular was released today, and it looks pretty hawt. But anyway, have fun with them all - you'll find the most recent ones at the top of this list:

- True Tears preview #2
- Kite Liberator trailer
- Ayakashi anime trailer #2
- Shigofumi trailer
- Kemeko Deluxe pilot trailer
- Candy Boy OVA
- L change the WorLd trailer
- AsuKimi erogame opening
- Blassreiter trailer
- Appleseed: Ex Machina trailer (English) (...)

The prime candidate for the Shittiest Game of the Year will blast its way to some obscure corners in retail shops on December 3, promising to blend third-person shooters with anime-style characters and environments, in a "revolutionary new online game" (no, really, I haven't seen such revolutionary crap in ages!).
"What happens when manga meets third-person shooters?" asked Jin Yong, producer of MangaFighter at OnNet USA. "We're eager to let our players find out." (ed. "because we're too disgusted to see for ourselves", is probably what he would've said next)

If you really, really don't have anything better to do with your time, drop by the MangaFighter website to see the game in streaming action.
And we celebrate THQ for their applaudable initiative. Here on this fine October day, the game publisher (who is better known for bringing Relic's strategy games to the retail light) has just released a somewhat different kind of "strategy" game. One in which you strategically manipulate a little girl, "to save a family of endangered bald eagles" (and one-eyed snakes?). The PC game - titled Julie Saves the Eagles - is based on the newest American Girl character Julie Albright, "a fun-loving girl growing up in San Francisco in the 1970s". Uhh... wait a sec, wouldn't that make a her rather old by now? Ah well, they have a couple more games with little girls planned for the months ahead, one also for the Nintendo DS, so if Western lolis are your thing, go get them: they're cheap! The games, I mean.

Naruto: Clash of Ninja Revolution is the next crappy thing that Nintendo is planning for their casual (and not so crappy) Wii console. The game will be hitting the shelves on October 27 (that is, if they don't delay it, like all producers tend to, nowadays) - but it will hit with a blast, more precisely with a Ramen eating contest. Even more precisely, we will witness the first ever to be made Ramen Noodle Major League Eating Contest, which will be held at the Nintendo World Store, New York City's Rockerfeller Plaza. Of course, they will also hold some insignificant gaming tournaments, but we don't care about those. Unless it's World of Warcraft and it involves some Lilium Loot.

Some more details about this event can be spotted on ANN.

Remember Gaia Online? Oh, wait... we never actually wrote about, did we? Shame, real shame. Well, suffice to say it's a cute web-based online game, letting you dress your anime-styled character in pink clothes and do all sorts of silly things, which tend to get boring a little too soon, though. Ah well, at least they have an online cinema of sorts, where players can meet, chat, and watch a film at the same time.

"The program for this evening is not new, you've seen this entertainment through and through", as the song goes, but for those of you who haven't seen Kiddy Grade yet, now's your chance to catch a glimpse of Lumiere's pedolicious pantsu! As ANN tips us, the Gaia Cinemas are currently screening the first two episodes of Kiddy Grade. And I have to admit, it's pretty fun to ruin the other viewers' experience, so why don't you go give it a try? Just make sure you have a high tolerance to crappy English dubs...

Kenko Zenrakei Suieibu Umisho is a pretty cute anime, depicting the story of a retard kid who does not know how to swim, but he vigorously tries to learn it. I, personally, didn’t watch it yet – due to the fact that it is tagged, on AniDB, under Large Breasts. And I certainly do not fancy large breasts, because a flat chest is fine, too.

They say it is good, so who knows, I might give it a try in the near future, when all the stuff I have yet to watch will run out. The fact that, right now, I’m reasoning with this here anime, it’s because it is being turned into a PS2 game, and will be released on October, 25, at a 7140 yen price. A Limited Edition will also follow up, and the producers will charge you an extra 2000 yen for a Drama CD (whatever that means), and an OST disc.

I bet it will be a dating sim. So that’s why i want to play it. Degeki Online even hosts some screenshots, but we stole them shamelessly. Have a look for yourself.

Oh, yes, and the game's official website is also up

I, for one, have always been an “enemy” of Sony products. Don’t really know why, because I even own a PS2, I can use a PS3 at work anytime I feel like it (and I have done so a couple of times), but all in all, I dislike Sony mostly for the stupidity of both their marketing plan regarding its latest console, and the way they decide, sometime, to advertise their stuff. Remember, all those racist commercials?

Ah well, so far, the PS3 is not in its greatest shape. I can rant all day about the huge price, the absolutely crap games that have been released so far, but I won’t. I won’t, because someone else just did. Meet Tane Kiyoshi, editor at the gaming magazine Culture, and his latest book, entitled Why did the PS3 fail? He probably does a better job at explaining such things as marketing issues, or technology or whatnot, so if you are interested in the subject, you can get the book.

PS3 has a lot of potential, I’ll admit. But the way it managed so far to constantly hit the bottom, even in Japan (where Nintendo is still king of the hill, thanks to the Wii and DS consoles), is actually pretty hilarious. Maybe one or two years from now, it will make amends, who knows, I ain’t no Nostradamus, but until I see better games and better controls, X360 will pwn it so hard.

Thanks Canned Dogs for ze tip.

If the Appleseed movie (and, eventually, movies, starting October 20) is not enough to satisfy your hunger for action, then be prepared for the launch of the Appleseed Online Card Tactics, some weird kind of MMO that is said to offer a bit of card tradin’, a bit of tactical simulation, and, hopefully, a bit of „it’s for free!” tags. M2, the guys behind the project, have previously tried to make some money out of another Appleseed Online game, but they failed miserably after the beta ended.

I guess this game will be free for starters, with certain „items” being purchasable via teh internets. Because boosting your e-penis will always cost money, wether you like it or not. The game is set for release somewhere this fall.
