Cencoroll is an anime project based on an award-winning manga by Atsuya Uki, who is making a bold step towards the field of cell animation. The film has been in production at Anime Innovation Tokyo since 2006, and now seems to be co-produced by Aniplex. The story begins as a sudden advent of an enigmatic creature pushes the world and the young heroine, Yuki, into the realm of surreal. When a huge monster appears on the top of a building in an ordinary provincial town, the local Defense Forces go into action, and the people of the town are in uproar. Yuki happens to know the secret that Tetsu keeps a strange creature called Cenco. Being brave-hearted and naturally inquisitive, she becomes fascinated by Tetsu and his unusual pet, Cenco. A mysterious boy - who has control over the huge monster threatening the town - then appears and an unexpected battle begins. Who do they fight for? Who are they? By getting involved with a battle, how is Yuki's fate going to be?
