Blood: The Last Vampire the movie is the live-action adaptation of Production I.G's animated film of the same title, originally from 2000. The film stars the South Korean actress Jeon Ji-hyun (Gianna Jun) as the half-vampire loli Saya, while the Japanese actress Koyuki plays her opponent Onigen. Saya, a 16-year-old sword-wielding girl, is part of covert government agency that hunts and destroys demons in a post-WWII Japan. She is inserted in a military school to discover which one of her classmates is a demon is disguise. In Japan, the movie premieres on May 29, 2009 under the title Last Blood. The European premiere followed on June 26, and the North American premiere in July 10, 2009.
