Akikan! is a romantic comedy TV anime that aired in Japan from January 3, 2009. What may seem like a generic romantic comedy story at first, soon turns out to be... well, not much more, really; other than its ludicrous theme of soda cans transforming into hawt girls, called "akikan" ("empty can"), who "need to be infused with carbon dioxide from kissing to survive". A "hot spring" OVA - titled Akikan!/Can Ippatsu!!? Onsen Panic - is also being released on October 23, 2009.
