Canaan - formerly 428 the Animation - is a TV anime adaptation based on SEGA and Chunsoft's 428: Fuusa Sareta Shibuya de visual novel Wii game, animated by studio P.A. Works (Ghost in the Shell: SAC - Solid State Society, Darker than Black). The modern-day story involves a detective, a young man, a virus researcher, a freelance writer and a cat mascot character, who who are brought together in the Tokyo's Shibuya district by bizarre events with worldwide implications. The anime series Canaan begins airing in Japan on July 4, 2009.
