Ring of Gundam is an anime film short written and directed by the franchise's creator Yoshiyuki Tomino, to mark the 30th anniversary of Mobile Suit Gundam. The animation was produced by studio Robot (La Maison en Petits Cubes) and Sunrise, and apparently this "preview" that was first shown at Gundam Big Expo on August 21, 2009 was the complete movie. The story takes place in a new era long after the events of the first series' One-Year War. In this world setting, a giant 600-kilometer-wide ring now floats in lunar orbit. An Earth Federation Forces member named Eiji discovers an object called "Beauty Memory" buried in a high-altitude, massive rockbed on Earth. (ANN description)
