The series of Darker than Black side stories recounts what happened to the main character Hei, in the two years that have been left unexplored between the first and second TV anime seasons. The first episode will be released in Japan on January 27, 2010, bundled with Volume 2 (both on DVD and Blu-ray) of the ongoing sequel Darker Than Black: Ryuusei no Gemini.
