The Amount of OVAs is nearing the number of episodes from first anime. I guess maybe they dont trust themselves after having to remake anime after being told first was shit.
Sorry to sound stupid, but when the first anime series was remade, was it a different studio or was it the same one trying again? I still think it's worth their time to make a proper series of newest section. I think Fans would forgive them from avoiding the bits inbetween.
