Macademi Wasshoi! (The Magician's Academy) is the anime adaptation of the fantasy comedy novels by the same title, authored by Ichiro Sakaki (Scrapped Princess, Polyphonica).

The Quiz Magic Academy: The Original Animation is based on a series of arcade trivia games by Konami. The OVA is animated by studio AIC, with a script and direction handled by the guys behind Amaenaideyo!! and School Days. The last part sounds promising, but the title doesn't.

Eve no Jikan (Time of Eve) is a new "non-hard sci-fi" animation coming in 2008 from Studio Rikka and director Yasuhiro Yoshiura, mostly known for his exquisite animated shorts Mizu no Kotoba (2002), and Pale Cocoon (2005). It's a story about everyday life in a world populated by life-like androids, once again with impressive visuals - both technically and artistically.

Kaitou Tenshi: Twin Angel (Thief Angel: Twin Angel) is a multimedia franchise adapted, among others, into an OVA whose release began in August 2008. This anime adaptation is based on the characters created for a pachi-slo game machine (slot machines designed for pachinko parlors in Japan).

Casshern Sins is a remake of the Shinzou Ningen Casshan sci-fi robotronic anime classic, in the works at studio Madhouse and scheduled to start airing in Japan this October. The story of Casshern revolves around a cyborg who rises against the robotic armies that have subjugated all of humanity.

World Destruction is an "apocalypse impending" RPG for the Nintendo DS published by SEGA, and at the same time an anime series based on the game - which is a traditional RPG with turn-based combat and giant bosses, developed by Image Epoch (Luminous Arc), and reuniting three Xenogears staffers. The game centers on a youth named Kirie Irunisu who secretly possesses the power to destroy the world. He is forced to join a party that aims not to save the world, but to eradicate it and start anew. The story also has a main heroine named Morute Ashera, who plays a bigger role in the anime version.

A trailer for Aria the Animation, promoting the anime's September 30 release stateside by Right Stuf and Nozomi Entertainment, as a single DVD with English subtitles. Aria the Animation is the first of 3 television seasons, plus an OVA (original video animation), that comprise the anime adaptation of Kozue Amano's best-selling Aria manga. The story is set in the early 24th century, when Mars has been terraformed by mankind into a sparkling planet covered in water. Akari Mizunashi, at the age of 15, has left everything behind to travel to that reborn world, now known as Aqua. More than anything, Akari wants to be an "undine" - a female gondolier who navigates the canals of the Aquan city of Neo-Venezia. As she begins her training with the prestigious Aria Company, will she be up to the challenges that await her on the path to achieve her dream?
