Jigoku Shoujo Mitsuganae is the third season in Studio DEEN's pseudo-horror anime series Jigoku Shoujo (Hell Girl), in which everyone's favorite loli-from-hell Ai Enma returns with new powers, starting from October 4, 2008.

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann began as a mecha series animated by Gainax, and followed (in September 2008) by the Gurren Lagann: Guren-hen movie animated by the same studio. The story takes place in the distant future, when people live in subterranean caverns, fearing the occasional earthquake and cave-in, as they have been for hundreds of years. Then things get worse.

Inazuma 11 is the sports anime adaptation of the Nintendo DS game Inazuma Eleven, blending role-playing with... *gasp*... soccer, and developed by Level-5 (Dragon Quest VIII, Rogue Galaxy). The anime focuses on seven students from Rainmon Middle School who form a soccer club and turn it into a competitive team.

Armored Trooper Votoms: Pailsen Files is the latest series in the classic robot / mecha anime franchise, albeit telling a prequel story about the end of the 100 year war. The 12-episode OVA was produced by studio Sunrise using 3D CG animation, and it also spawned a theatrical movie version, which is currently in production

Nodame Cantabile: Paris (or Pari-Hen) is the second season of the anime series based on Tomoko Ninomiya's Nodame Cantabile manga. The romantic comedy continues Megumi "Nodame" Noda and Shinichi Chiaki's journey as music students as they travel to Paris. Premieres in Japan on October 9, 2008.

Hyakko, the anime series, adapts Haruaki Katoh's slapstick school comedy / slice of life manga about four, fresh high school girls, who join a huge private academy that teaches every grade from elementary school to high school. The anime premieres in Japan on October 1, 2008.

Zettai Shougeki: Platonic Heart is a five-episode bishoujo OVA (part of a larger multimedia project), to be released on DVD in Japan starting from October 29, 2008, all through February 2009. The story centers on the Platonic Heart, a jewel that - according to an old urban legend - can grant any wish when collected. Only a chosen few (11 girls and women) are allowed to compete in the Platonic Heart hunt.

Gatchaman is a new CG-animated feature film from Imagi Studios (Astro Boy, Highlander, TMNT), set to bring the long-running anime franchise to movie theatres around the world in 2010. Set in a future world grappling with environmental and technological issues, the story focuses on five reluctant heroes whose remarkable genetic code makes them Earth's only hope of defeating extra-terrestrial invaders. Gatchaman will be a big, effects-rich movie with some of the most ambitious action sequences ever seen in animation. Gatchaman was originally created by Japan's Tatsunoko Production in the early 1970s as a TV series called Science Ninja Team Gatchaman, aired in the U.S. as Battle of the Planets and G-Force.

The Chaos;HEAd anime series is based on the 2007 visual novel game of the same title created by 5pb. and Nitroplus. Airing in Japan from October 2008, Chaos;Head the anime is a delusional murder mystery story with strong elements of gore, psychology and science fiction.

First Squad: The Moment of Truth is an anime series created by the Russian-Canadian animation company Molot Entertainment and Japan's Studio 4°C. The story is set in 1942, the third year of World War II, at a time when continental Europe lies in ruins, enslaved by the Nazis. But in the East, in Russia, the Red Army is putting up a violent resistance to the legions of the Third Reich. A group of Soviet teenagers with extraordinary abilities have been drafted to form a special unit and fight the invading German army. They are opposed by a Schutzstaffel (SS) officer who is attempting to raise from the dead a supernatural army of crusaders from the 12th-century Order of the Sacred Cross and enlist them in the Nazi cause.
